No, because supersonic muntions, whic are required to really reach out, cause a sonic boom after clearing the weapon, rendering the whole effort of attaching a suppressor redundant, because it will still give off a helluva lot of noise.
 
Even suppressed subsonic munitions are still loud though. Can likely identify a suppressed shot on a clear day from 50 to 100 yards or so, depending on the weapon in question.

Yes it does. More proof that hollywood and FPS titles have the whole damn thing wrong xD I get irritated whenever I hear their "silenced" weapons, or the rifles that lack recoil, et cetera.
 
One day people will realise that if you have an automatic weapon (that's not some heavy monstrocity or mounted to a stable platform), firing without controlling it to bursts of three or four shots each or so, you're shooting at the sky.

Anything is possible, but why would you want to? And from the standpoint of somebody who is practical, why would you want a rifle chambered for the .50 BMG? Sure it feels big and bad, and dont get me wrong it is, but there are options out there that, with a bit of finesse, can out perform it. And hell, if you really want something big, check out some of its bigger, European cousins. Steyr has their 15.2mm monster, the Russians have the infamous 14.5 and then there's that Croatian monster, the RT-20 which fires an old cannon shell.

Oh no, not a one of those is legal here    too expensive if they were, too. Nor would I want to fire that RT-20.

Even still, I don't really care to. I'm more practical. Way I see it, if you want to hold kinetic energy at range, get some ammunition that can do it. The only one that really holds up in that regards is the Steyr, and even then, it's not a rifle I could really use. Too large, too heavy, too expensive.
