They do mesh well. Especially in uniform-like mixtures where it is a solid black then a solid red.

In 300, one of the persian commanders is trying to intimidate a spartan, (not a significant spartan, just a recurring extra). so intimidating him he is talking of "Our army shakes the ground in our march" and then of course "Our arrows will bloat out the sun" and the reply.

Ironic too cause later in the movie (which the same extra mentions) the arrows ACTUALLY DO bloat out the sun XD
