Welcome to the beginning posts of RPs. The first post is the introductory so that the characters can be introduced and made visible to the rest of the group. Then you have the first interactions and intermingling. After you deal with all of that then you can actually start story.

I suppose that's just one problem with using a pre-written story for an RP intro... the writer is the worst critic xD Kinda like how artists critique their own art so harshly at times.
