Best to stick with breeders of a specific animal that you have an interest in, yes of course they will be more expensive, but you can be sure it won't have disease and comes from a good genetic line usually.

A skilled reptile owner can rescue animals in bad shape but I'd never recommend it to the typical enthusiast simply because of the time and money they must be invested. I'd never support a chain store as often they have breeders that are barely above puppy mills but for reptiles. Nobody does anything about it because they are less strict restrictions on them. Do not support the mistreatment of these wonderful living creatures.

the Australian national parks tried to run reptile owners down awhile ago, they (a group of non-reptile owners) were trying to tell us that the animals need larger homes to be happy when the entire group fighting this had scientific prof against their claims.
