Lost, confused, and a bit scared/freaked out...

Okay, so here's the deal:

I think I... well... I... uh... Dang it, Kayle!  Spit it out!  *Slams head into desk*  I think I might be bi.  There, I said it. 

I started thinking yesterday about a girlfriend I had at the beginning of this school year, and how badly I destroyed our relationship.  Then, I realized that if someone, anyone, were to tell me they loved me "like that", I wouldn't turn 'em down, regardless of gender.  I don't have feelings for anyone in particular, and I don't think I will for a while.  I suppose I'm more emotionally bi than physically bi, but this is still driving me nuts!  I wrote down kinda what I was feeling yesterday, and if you wanna read the poem that resulted, http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=7213.0 

That may help you see what I was feeling.

I feel really awkward posting this, but... whatever.  This is all just kinda scary right now...

First, take a deep breath and realize that it's not as scary as you might think.

What you've said pretty much sounds like how I realized I was bisexual. When I didn't have a mate, I could see myself being with anyone, as long as they wanted me. I wasn't sure about it for a while, but gradually thought about it over a year or two, and it just made more sense to me the more I thought about it.

You're not alone. And there isn't a huge rush to decide either. You can just be "undecided" for a while if you want. You will work things out one way or another.

Thanks, Zephyr.  I'm just... kinda in the middle right now, y'know?  I think I'v kinda subconsciously known for a while, due to other things, but never really realized it.

You dont have to decide now, and its no major thing. I am emotionally bi where, when Im alone, I would be willing to take any positive love emotion from anyone. Physically I am straight as far as I know. Dont worry about it too much, you'll figure it out eventually.

Nothing wrong with it, for sure. And plenty practical niceties involved with being bi. Don't worry your head off, Kayle. It's fine. Just think it over some and decide adamantly. Dwelling on things for too long never helps.

Don't be worried, a lot of people are bi. Billie Joe Armstrong is, so is Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. SO I guess you could say Green Day is all bi. And guess what, people still love them!

So don't worry about what you are, just be true to yourself and never back down from saying what you really are.

Well, considering I actually knew a bi in middle-school, you don't have much to worry about....in fact that actually leaves more options for possible partners/mates...so its more of a mixed blessing...but yes, I actually know this is somewhat scary because you're not sure if you'll be able to have friends 'once word gets out'....but meh...I'm ranting...so I'll stop with just this: clear your head, and list the benefits of being bi, and if you really want to, list the cons...

Yeah, I found a quote by someone that really sums it up right now:  "While you're making fun of  me, just remember who's going home with a date on Saturday night while you sit around getting rejected."  Or something along those lines.  Can't remember who said it, but I like it...

Kayle, just remember not to let people get you down, if your bi, your still as normal a person as the guy sitting next to you, people just hate what they can't understand.

There was another thread like this and I'll say here what I said there: Make sure you really are bi and it's not just a hormonal physical attraction. If you end up devoting your life to someone of your same gender, you will no longer be able to enjoy the traits of the opposite gender.

Also, "bisexuality" is such a loose term nowadays. There's also pansexuality, which basically means that you don't see gender, you're not limited solely to males and females. Intersexed and Trannies are also in the mix.

But there really is nothing to be afraid of. Try to find some Rainbow Room meetings in your area, they usually happen at Planned Parenthood. You'll get to meet other people in your situation. Might alleviate some of the fear.
