They call me Toon
« on: April 18, 2009, 04:00:46 AM »
Hey, all! What's up?

I am very new to the furry fandom - but not a stranger to the internet. I've been around for a good three to four years. People usually call me Toon (short for ToonFudge or Toonophilia) or Syd.

I love to draw, write, roleplay (though, I haven't for awhile, so I may be rusty), watch cartoons, and listen to music. I have created a bunch of characters for a series - which I plan to animate when I'm older. I may RP them here.

So, yeah, that's about it. I hope to have a good time here, and, if you have a question for me, feel free to ask!

@ WingedZephyr: Thank you very much. ^^

Also, I have changed my name (due to being asked), but I just wanted to let everyone know that, if I am to change my name again, it will start with Toon. As for the Teddie part in my current name, he is a furry bear from the video game, Persona 4. I suppose that you could call me Teddie, too, now. XD

Welcome here! I see you made quite a few post in few time, that's great. People complain it's empty, you help 'spicing up the feeling of livelyness' here. Anyways, have fun (I do).

Welcome to the forum ^^
With 955 characters for a signature, I can try make something funny or interesting but no, I'm just gonna sit here and type instead of going to work because breaking the fourth wall is more humour than trying to figure out how I'll get access to my other laptop; picking up my charger that I left at a friends house, around 40 miles away...

Good going Sparky, you did well. On the plus side, it's given you a chance to accidentally revisit some old stomping grounds and see what madness you can create during this seemingly temporarily return.

I post way too rarely on forums, I tend to stay in a passive position. But that's good, active users are often great.

Nice to meet you too :) I trust you're a good person, I hope we get to know each other better (I hope this dosen't sound creepy, I just tie up bonds quickly).

@ Kadejtaal: Well, that's okay. It's good to be positive! ^^ Prehaps we could chat over MSN?

I'm glad to be be here. [shakes paws with all of you]

Um, I have some questions for you guys, if you don't mind. ^^; I don't want to sound like a newb, but...

1) I have created a fursona - only it is male, and I am female. Is that ok? Is it odd?
2) When's the right time for scritching? :3 I've had the urge to scritch/be scritched ever since I discovered the fandom - but I don't wanna scare off folks by randomly going up to them and scritching, you know?

It's perfectly fine to have an opposite gendered fursona. Your fursona is whatever you want it to be. It may not be common, but it's not unheard of either, and certainly not strange.

I'm not sure how to answer the thing about scritching.

@ WingedZephyr: Thanks for answering my question! You sure have been helping me out alot lately, and I appreciate it greatly. ^^ As for scritching, well, not everyone knows everything, huh? I had just heard it was a greeting between friends, so I was curious.

That's what mods are for. :P

And I do know what scritching is, but I can't really imagine why it would scare anyone off, for the most part at least, which is why I wasn't sure how to answer. Furries are pretty friendly people generally speaking, so I don't think you need to be that worried about it. As long as you back off if someone ever tells you to.

Well, thank you both! ^^ And, hey, maybe I'll try scritching a furry sometime soon.

And Gothy, most of my characters, before I discovered the fandom, are male. But, still, I'm in the same boat as you: I'm glad to see another person with an opposite-gendered fursona.

Sure, we just need to know each other's time zones so we don't wait for nothing at a bad time.

As for your questions.

1) Not at all, we're free to do what pleases us, and I don't think it's rare to see that.
2) I'm completely clueless about scritching, even with your descriptions.  I doubt it's a bad thing tough.
