Considering I have the displeasure of listening to the rap crap going on in annoying peoples cars all day I say living in my neighborhood I get horribly tortured every day.
Like my other heavy rocker friend says, it makes your ears bleed, just not in a good way.

Define hardcore.  The stuff I listen to is heavy, but in a expressive manner.  Not just low tuning, power chords, and palm mutes.  Doesn't mean I don't enjoy that from time to time...  It just needs to be done right.

Within the genres you like, where do you draw the line at what you'll listen to?

I am okay with some pop music, as  long as it isn't that sappy crap about love or social life or anything, which is mostly all of it. I listen to metal/rock as long as it, like the earlier rule, isn't a bunch of crap about love or social life disguised as a rock song, and as long as it doesn't curse and defile against something they hate or if its just a rant in metal form.

How much would you rank yourself on 1-10 on how much you listen to music.
