sorry...but it's just that in the first post, it says that it's right after Jane died and her body was found so that's why I asked that.

a lot of the time the girl changes her last name or combines the two names, but yes, sometimes they don't.

If you even say the rest of what goes with ist to me, I will consider you a ignorant little fool. Your the only one who even thought of it in such a light so I'd have to say you should look within before commenting on other's behalf. Traditionally the woman does take the male's last name, there's nothing sexist about it.

Ahem, Eli took Jacob's name because she couldn't stand to feel so heartbroken over her twin's death by keeping her maiden name. It's not sexist, she and Jacob agreed it was for the better.

but I think keeping the name Winterstone was hurting Eli too much and that's why she changed it.
