These are two poems I wrote in early October.

Plea For The Lover's Return

Sleepless nights, haunting me
May need sleep, also need solace
Loneliness as wide as a sea
All my joys feel false
I only think of you
And all I do is write
And miss the love I knew
When all I knew felt right
You're a thousand miles away
And my heart's with you
I feel of only decay,
and Fate owes me what's due.

Plea For The Lover's Stay

When I'm with you
My heart flies on wings of gold
My breath stops in it's tracks
and every dark and evil though I ever had
is vanquished.
When I'm with you
My soul floods with safety.
My body quivers and shakes
and when I start to ail,
your presence cures me.
When You're away
My heart longs for the sky it knew
And my chest cracks open
Like that of one receiving surgery.
The Dark returns
the vile creature I become
When you are away
doesn't not deserve your pure
and caring touch.

I wrote these for a person I was interested in to become my mate, since the last mate I've had. I wrote Plea For The Lover's Return first, one night while I was staying up all night waiting for the person to contact me, which he never made any attempt to contact me that night. Plea For The Lover's Stay was written after the next time I talked to him, which was about a week later. I had noticed that the entire day before I got to talk to him, I was cruel and cynical, but when I got to talk to him, I was a lot nicer, and felt alot better too. However, I was having some conflict with whether or not I truly deserved this person.

I've already given up on this person, however, because he stopped contacting me about a month ago, and I have no way of contacting him.

You deserved this person Id bet anything on it as your kind and a blast to chat with. But if they chose to break contact then thats their problem, they loose out on what could've been a great mate.

As for the poetry itself, both are really good heartfelt poems. Sometimes I feel like Im the only one who can't write the stuff. Keep comming up with more you got a talent

Well, thank you. Like I said, I've given up on him. I just felt like these are two of my best works so far.

They're awesome. And Tezz, quit putting yourself down. You're an awesome poet, just keep going! Uncertainty, I can feel your pain. I'm sorry he decided to be a jerk. Good luck with life, and keep writing, you're an incredible poet. Up there with myself (debatable), Plato, and Shakespeare. Enjoy yourself and live life to the fullest, that's the only way to go, kiddo. ~~

Some of the imagery in there is pretty solid.  Certainly evokes feelings easily related to.

Giving up on said person: totally fine.
Giving up on yourself warrants me throwing a show at you, so don't do that.  Especially because I don't have any shoes, so I would have to forcibly take one from somebody else in order to throw it at you.

And it looks like your feelings toward punctuation are the same as mine.   :D

Nice poetry as well bragi. But I will say if you plan on keep writing poetry or any for of literature, please refrain to doing it in your own thread so that this remains open to the original poster's work.
