New to everything
« on: August 15, 2018, 01:48:25 AM »
Hello everyone. I am Cho and I am drawn to butterflies myself in a strong way. Less overtly, I am also drawn to lion, bear and bobcat (lynx). I have suppressed alot for many years and finally feel free to explore. However, I am finding it is overwhelmingly difficult to find exactly what I want to know about the established community. If anyone has an online terminology guide (dictionary of furdom) I would heartily appreciate it. I would like to know what the levels of anthropomorphic characterization are and if there are terms that can call up specific levels of fur. For instance, Vincent from the 1987 Beauty and the Beast series is almost the perfect level of animal to human mixture in my eyes. Is there a term for that?

Otherwise, It is nice to meet you all. Please, be gentle. My wings are fresh out of my cocoon and still not dry.

Hi. Welcome to the Furry Forums.

For a dictionary, try the Wikifur website. It offers a wide variety of knowledge on furry 'lore' per say. Otherwise, Google is your friend. (http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/WikiFur_Furry_Central/800)

As for levels of furry, most furries go for anthropomorphic animals (close to animated Beast in the Disney film) as opposed to Vincent. This isn't to say you can't do it as most furries generally don't care how people make their furry selves as long as they don't steal it. Part of being a furry is being creative so be Vincent-like, but not Vincent himself. Also, I found a meme (how educational) that kind of discusses the levels of being furry but again, it doesn't matter but this should sate the question.
