Deus Ex: Human Revolution Soundtrack - 12. Endings I'm always thinking about the future, about how uncertain it is, and about how it can't be stopped. I hate that. I wish life could be at least a little more care-free, but it doesn't work that way. I'm always worrying about how I can better defend others, always worrying about the state of the world, my family, my friends... I could die this day, and not one of you would know what happened. That terrifies me. Sometimes, I wish I never made friends, alienated myself from my family, and purposefully acted like a prick to make people simply not care if I died, so I would know they would not cry when I go... The death of a good friend, a close family member, or a loved one is an immeasurable cruelty upon the living. I wish I couldn't inflict those wounds.
Despite all this, I square my shoulders and push on. I do my best for the good of all people, and there is hope. Mostly pain and sadness, from what I can see... but there is hope, I'll never stop trying to help others in need, no matter what orientation, religion, or color the people are, and I'll never stop looking to a better and brighter tomorrow for them all.
Deus Ex Intro Sequence I hope that some day I'll be in a position in society that warrants a theme like this. My single greatest goal in life is to prove first hand that absolute power does NOT corrupt absolutely, and that the world's most powerful individuals can be of the best that Mankind has to offer, and not necessarily the worst. I'm sick of people instantly thinking of people like Hitler and Stalin when they hear the word "dictator." This widespread fear of corruption and greed in men of power, is all thanks to people just like them. They let it get to their heads, and while they might have had a grand time while in office, they pretty much screw the chances of benevolent dictatorships, because people will almost always fight that kind of regime from even starting. Unlike Kim Jong-il, I would be thought of and remembered by the people of my country as a God among Men, because they truly believed in that, and not because I made them believe so.
