Hey y'all!

I've never been all too good at introducing myself, so to just get the most important points across and to get me started on the forum:
* 37 years old - probably one of the older guys on here :-)
* programmer - more out of necessity than out of passion
* asexual, biromantic, furry, leporiphile ;-)
* as a consequence I don't much care for yiff or suggestive artwork, but I am somewhat of a hyperromantic (does that term even exist? ^^)
* I don't own a fursuit, nor am I really into fursuiting while I acknowledge that there are some gorgeous and incredibly well made ones out there
* I am mostly into the furry fandom for the artwork; while I am poor at drawing myself, I like to channel my feelings through other outlets, like music, collecting existing artwork, (poor) video editing :-)
* I am a lot into music and my preferences vary greatly; I am mostly into Jazz (Cool Jazz, Dave Brubeck, Pat Metheny) and Classic/Hard Rock (Aerosmith, Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica)
* I play the guitar (I love my Tele

)
* I am quite heavily into Zootopia and just started a blog called The Zootopia Song Project. I would be honored if you checked it out and gave me some feedback. :-)
* I am truly, madly, deeply... but let's not get into this. You will be able to tell, anyway. ;-)
* Other places on the web where I tend to be quite active is the Zootopia Reddit and Facebook where I tend my Zootopia Song Project Page.
* I've been considering myself furry for about seven years but haven't been all that active in the community most of the time.

I am happy to have found this community and hope to be contributing on a regular basis. :-)

Hi and thanks for the welcome! :-)

Currently I mostly do frontend programming in Angular and templating. For a new AR project I will probably get my feet wet with C#. In the past I've been mostly into PHP (Typo3, Laravel) and Java (IBM Websphere and AEM).

Welcome Ace! That Song Project looks interesting! I haven't seen too many programmers, but it is always nice to meet another one. I don't hear too often about new furs in their 30s, that's pretty impressive to me! I am glad you made it here, furries are very friendly. *Gives tiramisu*

So, what's your 2nd favorite 3D film?

Yeah, that's something that makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. :-/ I know that a lot of people think that being furry is just some phase you go through and the older you get, the more bewildered stares you draw. Luckily you can't tell from the outside but I'm also fed up with hiding my feelings. Nowadays I don't give a darn and don't worry (too much) about posting furry stuff and allusions to my anthropomorphic romantic interest publicly on my Facebook wall. If some people think I'm crazy then that's fine with me. At least this makes for some interesting conversations. :-D

Madagascar. Not as much for catering to the furry fandom but rather for the exquisit wealth of pop culture references.

Well, it feels impressive because it seems like a lot of people don't adopt new hobbies after their 20s, so I'm glad you did!

Oh, people do pick up new hobbies. It's not that they're too old, it's mostly that they're too exhausted from work. I'm pretty sure that the percentage of people starting new hobbies increases in the retirement age range.

Anyway, it didn't really feel like picking up a hobby, more like discovering part of who I am. After all I'm not too active when it comes to contributing art to the community.
