Is It Okay to Feel Different?
« on: January 26, 2008, 08:39:01 AM »
Hey, I'm a new member and have in the past few months have had an attraction to furry. Should I feel akward or different? Of course I should probaly be asking a forum who is somewhat unbiased on the topic.

It's okay to feel different. I'm used to feeling different all the time in real life. Hence my name, Discrepancy.
The only time it's not good to feel different is when you're not being yourself. For example, if you're doing something to fit in and you fell "different" about it... No.

OMG... >_<
First: "attraction" says nothing to me (blame language)
Second: Moderators should REALLY add age and sex to profile (I have enough of guessing)
Third: no, you're normal xD (what you expected)

@Down: I know, but he/she hide personal info ;D
Njarrf... duh?

It's already in the profile, just not in the 'mini-profile' on the side. Check mine out and you'll see what I mean.

well, i guess im as unbiased as you can meet in this forum (not a furry, but i sure like the community) so... i guess its ok to feel different, although i would like to know what you mean by ''different'' because there are many forms of feeling different, different as in: depressing, or feeling better than the rest or whatever...

Sorry that i was so vague but as it shows, i posted it at 3 A.M. so i'll clarify; I'm 13yrs old in the past few months I've had exsposure to furry and feelvery different from everyone else. Should it matter? Should I tell a family member?

I always feel 'different' compared to everyone else around me. That's natural and I like it that way. Just think of it like this, if you felt the 'same' as everyone else, you wouldn't be 'you', right?

Wellll, in my Opinion I love feeling 'different'.

Being original is great :3 Thus being Different.

Somethings being Different feels weird but embrace the weirdness and be yourself :3

It's OK to feel different. Everyone is different.
It's only natural as your conscious starts to become aware this.
Not many people, average, even know about "furry".
It's just one thing out of many that are different about you than the people you know around you.
When you get to know someone you'll be surprised about the stuff you can learn.

Though because of your age I highly suggest treating "furry" as just another fiction interest like anime or elves.
You may want to avoid using the term "furry" or furry terms around those that don't already know.

No worries.  I think most will agree with me when I say, most of us are here because we're different from what most of society views as the norm.  The way I see it, us being different is what makes us so ------ awesome.  When you think about it, we are the free thinkers in the world.  And regardless of what the rest of the world thinks, I'm proud to be who and what I am.  However, like was said, recommend treating furries like fiction.  It just makes thing easier.
Captain Kirk, Bones, Spock and Ensign Rickey beam down to a planet.  Guess whose not coming back?

Oh, I feel just fine around other decepticons(and even autobots) its just with so many athropomorphic animals its hard for a giant robot to find his place in such a world.
