Help with costume please!!

Hey, I'm new to the forum. Yay!

Hey, I'm not new to the fandom by far, but I'm new to dressing up for cons.

My girlfriend and I are going shopping for fabrics to make a costume (she's not a furry. Ha. But we're making her dress up. ) For further confusion this year.

I don't want to make a costume, I'd rather buy the pieces. I'm a neko, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places online to order realistic looking ears/tail for cheap, or if there are any places in San Jose or in the area (Cupertino, Santa Cruz, Aptos, Capitola, San Fransisco,general bay area etc)

Doesn't -have- to be neko things, considering there are 4 other people in our group that haven't found costumes yet.

or can you tell me any special things you've done on your costume to make it realistic? (Promise I won't steal your ideas!)

Oh, and I'm also a plus sized female, so you know what kinda things I'm looking for. I'm not looking for clothing, or god forbid a fur suit, I'm mainly looking for ears and a tail or any other good accessories.

Well I do not know about shops in your area but I do know that at most convention they have stall on where you can buy Neko accessories as for price wise I have no clue.

I am actualy in the process of making a fursuit (without the head) and I made my ears and tail myself. Very cheap and simply.

But since you're not interested in making them yourself, I don't know what to tell you. >_<

yeah actually I think this year we're just going to make them ourselves. We went to the fabric store and got stuff within our small budget. We needed enough fabric to make ears, tail and a belt for a tiger, my neko tail and ears, and ears and tail for a cabbit, but I still kinda want to know for reference where I can get better things for years to come.

You know some costume stores can usually give tips on how to make costumes. In my town we have a costume store that I went to to get tips on how to make some things.  Try looking in costume stores to get ideas and some tips.

Try ebay they have a Lot of the stuff you are looking for (I'm not a Necko but doesn't mean I have to have a full fursuit.  And I already posted a similar topic but no one replied why is that?)
