Talents; or lack there of?
« on: February 18, 2017, 01:08:39 PM »
So, I have been yearning to draw and/or create a fursona. But I've no talent when it comes to drawing/painting etc. Does anyone have any tips for me?

You can either describe your character in detail and try to find someone who takes requests to draw it for you (or get a commission done if you're willing to pay for it), or try to create it yourself. If you want to create it yourself, know that your first drawing/painting/etc. won't come out perfectly. You can check out a lot of sources on the internet to help you create your character on paper, and you can also check out the Artistic Stuff board whenever you want.

I think everyone can learn how to draw. One simply needs imagination and hard-will to try to pass challenges. Talent is simply having a skill much sooner than others. Say someone has a talent for drawing: They see much quicker and learn much quicker what makes a drawing 'good' or 'better'.
It does not mean people who don't have this talent can't learn to draw.

As Michen pointed out, we have a whole Art board dedicated to... well Art :P
If you want someone to draw something for you, check out the Requests board. Or you can also check out the Art for sale/trade/free to see if anyone is offering art.
Need help with drawing? Check out the current Artistic Stuff topics to see if there is anything helpful there ;)

But drawing can be fun and really rewarding if you stick to it. (Then again I have come across a few people who get 0% enjoyment from drawing :P)

Yeah, I think there are distinctions to make. For example, natural talent is one thing, but skills and acquired talent is another. I have no natural talent with drawing, but I've noticed that as I just kind of... tried... I slowly got a little better. I mean, I'm still bad, and I can only draw certain things, and my proportions are terrible. lol But the point is that I think that anyone can get better if they work at it. I myself was getting frustrated lately that I couldn't make any art work, and so I finally just sat down and tried, and it ended up looking great!

Well, great for me, but still. It was one of the best things I did. So I'm confident that you can easily do the same! Probably better than me. lol Just give it a shot now and then, and do your best to not give up. :)

I may take a bit of time to draw it but I'm happy to draw your Fursona for free. Time just depends on the hat of drawing you want.
