In response to the comments about "yiffing" and "fur piles"- Obviously, I knew nothing of your community when I first started my research, therefore my quest for information started simply with a google search to gain a preliminary knowledge of this community. Have you ever searched the first few pages of what’s said about this community? One would think that you would appreciate the fact that I have come to YOU, actual members of the community ITSELF for answers. God forbid I try to clear up common misconceptions that ANYONE who was surface inquiring about the Furrie community would come across. I am trying to do my research based on actual legitimate information, but most academic catalogs DO NOT have information on the Furrie community. Oh sure, I could have just filled my paper with the generic quotes from the interviews I did find but I didn't think that they represented this community. Anyways regardless of the rude reception I have received from a FEW of you I still plan on presenting your community in a positive light as most you have been more than helpful. For those of you that did respond to my? s I thank you. I promise to quote you accurately and honestly and appreciate all the misconceptions I may have had. To the administrators, I understand you are trying to look out for your communities best interest, however your skepticism and hostility might be a good reason why people have misconceptions about Furries. Instead of putting a guard up when people come in here seeking information, YOU as LEADERS and representatives of this community should be the first to want to inform people of who Furries actually are, A (mostly) receptive and creative beyond belief group of (people) who share a common interest.

In defense of those who are 'giving the rude reception', they are giving a generalized warning that has precedence over the course of the decade this set of forums has been online and active: There has been numerous occasions where good-intended people gave up information that was used against them by inquiries such as this, they are not being hostile, but are giving a standard fore-warning about topics of this nature (mainly those who claim that this is for a research paper/report).

So, our skepticism is well-deserved and a bit of confirmation of some of the questions some of the more inquisitive minds here might be in order for this.

But as Ventus himself stated: "It's the love of the art of animals."
