Stand Tall Companion Thread

The year is 2016. A good portion of the world is in a general state of peace, and everything is much like our world. People go about their day to day lives doing everyday things. However, in this world, there are people who go by the title of Stand Users, these are people who are gifted with Stands from birth. What is a stand, you ask?

They are representations of your life energy, a Stand protects its user, like a guardian. The name comes from "standing by" the user, sometimes using their powers without direct orders in order to protect the user, and by extension, themselves. They're abilities, strengths and weaknesses are based on the User's own strengths and weaknesses, both physical and mental as well as their personality.


People are inexplicably and seemingly randomly gaining Stands. This should not be happening as up until now Stand Users have only ever been born with their Stands. Those unable to control them fall sick within a matter of days and people have been known to die, those without Stands and can't see them blame it on a new disease. Those who have Stands know better, some keep it a secret if they can, others don't, more than happy to take advantage of the new found abilities.


This has quickly formed a rift between Stand Users, some think this is a bad thing, it needs to stop, others think it's great and it should be embraced as the new way of things. Only time will tell how things will play out.

You can be Pro Stand, Anti Stand or impartial.

Rules of Stands:
- A person can have only one Stand (though their Stand may duplicate)
- Stands can be inherited.
- A Stand is part of its user, and damage is usually reflected between the two.
- Stands may only be seen by Stand users; the exception being Stands bound to physical objects.
- A Stand can only be directly damaged by another Stand.
- A Stand's energy or power is inversely proportional to their operating range. The further a Stand is from its user, the weaker it becomes – Long-range Stands and/or Stands' long-range abilities are simpler in mechanism.
-Stands are usually bound to their user's body, but exceptions abound; being bound to a car, and being bound to sand, etc.
-When a Stand User dies, their Stand disappears with them.
-When a Stand is defeated, their user is either knocked unconscious or killed, depending on the level of injury.


Basic rules of the RP
-You know the basics, stick to them.
-No Godmodding. It wont be tolerated.
-If you have a stand which analyses weaknesses and such it cannot be instantaneous in the name of RP fairness.
-No Metagaming, you may know a Stand's weaknesses but if your character doesn't then they can't purposely make use of it. Dramatic Irony is a thing people.

 Name: Durundal Vantas
 Age:22
 Gender:Male
 Species: Lion
 Appearance: Durundal is a black-furred lion with a tattered, ripped mane and scars all over his body. He wears a long coat, and boots.
 Background: Durundal was not born a stand user- He came into control (or so to speak) when the last host of Logranta died, and the stand selected him as it's next host. He has since kept it well hidden, only using it if he must. Exposure to the stand has slowly driven him downhill, degrading his sanity greatly. He does understand people, however.
 Affiliation: Uncaring

 Appearance:
 Strengths:As a complete separate consciousness to Durundal, Logranta can control him to the swords every will, as long as Durundal agrees to it. The blade itself is well tempered, being able to slice through most substances.
 Weaknesses: Logranta completely disregards the hosts well being, and also causes loss of sanity in the host. This is already prevalent in Durundal.
 Abilities: -Controls Durundal
                -Is a well tempered sword with a strong slice
                -Can pass onto another host if the host is killed.

Name: Alexander "Xander" Mourns


Age: 18


Gender:Male


Species: White Wolf


Appearance: Xander is a wolf with purely white fur, the fur around his ears is tinted a light blue colour, his fur is ragged and messy. His eyes are a dull green. He typically wears hoodies over a buttoned up shirt, grey jeans and trainers.


Background: Xander comes from a long line of people who've never ever had a Stand. Subsequently, he has no idea what one is and wasn't born with one. He's a bit of a delinquent, committing petty thievery, getting himself into fights and all around causing trouble. It's not born out of malice, his family has enough mouths to feed so he decided it'd best if he found ways to get himself fed. During one aforementioned fight, something strange happened, out of nowhere one of the his opponents went flying like he'd been thrown by some force. The others bolted and Xander was too busy figuring out what just happened. ...Now he's in holding. His mum's gonna be so proud.


Affiliation: Unaware


Stand Sheet:
Name (if you want to name it): Currently undecided as Xander isn't properly aware of it.


Appearance:Large muscular green humanoid, seems to look like it's made of some solid crystal substance. It has no face.
 
Strengths: It's made of a tough material and has quite a lot of strength, it's not very fast but faster than the average person.


Weaknesses: Xander himself doesn't know when to quit and will often push himself, this is reflected in his Stand by the fact the material it's made of becomes gradually more and more brittle as he continues to push past his limits. He isn't the most emotionally stable, this can cause him to lose control of his Stand temporarily if his emotions overwhelm him.


Abilities: It has this odd quality, it could be down to the fact it doesn't have a face, nor can it be used communicate in anyway besides gestures, yet it seems to be able to portray an intimidating stance despite this. Both the Stand and Xander tend stay very relaxed when fighting, instead of tensing up, this can make both slightly hard to predict.

[The Past]

Name: Geoffrey "Geoff" Noah
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: Black bear

Appearance: Maroon; dark brown around the muzzle, down the neck and belly, inner upper limbs and entire forelimbs; tan muzzle, oval eyebrows. Wears a green shirt, blue jeans, black jacket and flat cap. Carries a backpack full of various scavenged items.

Background: Geoff lived a very sheltered life in a small town until he decided to leave his home behind for "greener" pastures. His plans failed, leaving him to survive on the streets. That was when this strange ghost appeared for the first time. Or so he believed at first. Perhaps it was that presence he imagined every night since he was a child, keeping guard while he slept...

Affiliation: "Haha, what?"

Stand Sheet:

Appearance: Usually takes the form of a curious blue-green ghostly bear cub seemingly made of steam or flame, but can shapeshift.

Strengths: Primarily defensive

Weaknesses: Can't cause physical injuries directly.

Abilities: Able to enter Geoff, can turn him invisible, untangible, and able to hover. Living beings passing through Anim or "possessed" Geoff will feel frigid and a sense of dread, the longer within them the worse the effect.
It can briefly lift and toss light physical objects and interfere with electronic equipment.

[Razuel]

Name: Razuel Dracon
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Species: Dragon
Appearance: This is a link. Also he has a stone embedded in his chest
Background: He is a skilled and famous Mercenary, however his past is clouded, but one thing that he can remember is that he awoke one morning, with a knife in his mother. Due to his psst,  he keeps his emotions bottled up, most of them showing through his stand, but usually shows compassion, and loyal to those of kind heart.
Affiliation: Partial
Other: Razuel acts as a gentleman, and owns a small business of Mercenaries.

Stand Sheet:
Name: Vivian
Appearance: A blue phoenix, always resonating a blue fire.
Strengths: Can persuade people  to not fight, and is a mix of Offensive and Defensive.
Weaknesses: The negative emotions emitted from Razuel can cause her to go into a type of Rage mode, making her very protective of Razuel. Also she is susceptible to water, and thus making her very weak when in contact with it.
Abilities: Is able to go inside the stone within Razuel ' chest and imbue him with the power of fire, high powered ion torch to gentle flame, and gives Raz the ability to create fully functioning weapons out of the fire.

[Tempest (Red Panda)]

Name: Tempest
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Species: Red Panda
Appearance: About a foot longer than a house cat, typical red panda markings with deep red eyes that have golden flecks in them. She typically walks upright, but runs on all fours, her walk has a bit of a feminine hip sway but has a fiery temper. She has black framed glasses that look like a mix between "librarian" and "nerd" glasses, a black skirt that's hiked up with chains in the front and trails behind her, and a maroon colored sports bra for a top, she typically walks around bare foot, but when she does wear shoes, they're knee high, leather army boots. She has an industrial piercing on her right ear and her left ear has a few small hooped piercings down her left ear.
Background: had a big but poor family in the country, her mother was an herbalist and her father was a gardener so she's pretty handy with plants. Like her other 7 brothers and sisters, she was born with a Stand and has always gotten along with them. She typically has an adventurous and mischievous attitude. (I.e. Climbing along a flimsy branch that hung over a basket full of her mothers apples and flashin her a smile as she stole one and ran off)
Other: her size allows her to get away with certain things, like stealing, but her Stand typically keeps her from doing so, her country friendly personality makes her a very easy person to trust and open up to, and she is (for whatever reason) attracted to the "mysterious" and "dark" types even though her Stand warns her how dangerous it can be

Stand Sheet:
Name (if you want to name it): Balthasar
Appearance: 7 feet tall, looks like a Tree Ent with more humanoid features (pronounced face, neck shoulders) with a long, vine like tail. He's pretty slow and seemingly dim witted, but very wise, her mother told her that he looks like the one her grandmother had as a child.
Strengths: Fire resistant, strong and sturdy, heals relatively fast on his own, but has to be in sunlight to do so
Weaknesses: slow, and not so graceful
Abilities: helps Tempest with growing her plants and is able to tell if a being is healthy or not (plants, people). He can root down into the ground to tell if there's a person coming, river nearby, a town nearby, using the vibrations. If there's danger approaching, Balthasar will tell Tempest and hide her in his chest cavity until the danger passes. If the danger can see Stands, Balthasar will simply act as if he's bound so something nearby, if they can't, Tempest will be concealed from their sight. He can only hold her for about 30 minutes however, and will need to charge up after hiding her.

[Angder]

Age:22
Gender:Male
Species:Wolf
Appearance:See avatar
Background: Angder is basically a hireable bodyguard. He protects the rich and the paranoid, keeping those who would mean harm away from his employee, he was dimly aware of stands, even before he got one himself, but he finds the whole idea scary, and avoids using his whenever possible. If he had a choice, stand users would be "cured" as for him it is very clearly a curse in hs eyes.

Stand
Appearance: A small green dragon
Strengths: can breath fire, enjoys destruction and harm. Is also fairly durable
Weaknesses: All it does is fight. It enjoys fighting, almost to a psychotic degree, Given the choice Angder's stand will always confront a threat head on. Of course, given its raw power, it usually wins
Abilities: A variety of breath weapons, all destructive in nature. Is able to "taunt" an enemy (or even a neutral party), compelling them into fighting either Angder or itself.

[Setcho]

Name: Setcho

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Species: Lion

Background: Setcho was born with his stand, its helped him so many times he has lost count. He comes from a complicated background, which has landed him on his own living a solitary life with just his stand. He has always tried to good, however he has blown up before when his emotion spin out of control.

Affiliation: Anti-stand

Stand

Appearance: A gryphon, a thick brown coat soft to the touch, with white feathers.

Strengths: He can fly a person on his back, isnt afraid of fighting with razor sharp talons and powerful beak. Lastly he can understand emotion, so he can comfort when sad, and act excited when you're happy.

Weaknesses: He cant go more than 100m away from Setcho or he starts to die.

Abilities: He can go invisible even to other stand users.

Name: Arcizo
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Wolf
Appearance: 6'2" Orange, blue and white. Wearing a black, grey and white baseball tee, black baseball cap, black collar and black shorts
Background: Lived in a terrace house, with his wealthy parents. His older, and only, brother, Leo, recently passed away (2 months ago). Ever since his brothers death, he's isolated himself from everyone else and shuts himself away in his "own world", as his mother describes it. But one morning stuff happens.
Other: Has had a history of social abnormality.
Affiliation (Pro, Anti, Impartial): Impartial

Stand Sheet:
Name (if you want to name it): Leo
Appearance: Blue and white, 6'5"
Strengths: Very, if not only, defensive. Extremely fast (inhumanely)
Weaknesses: The connection between Leo and Arcizo is so great that if the stand dies, Arcizo has a very high chance of dying, if not it feels like a part of him disappears. Not extremely good at offensive.
Abilities: Can shape-shift into other beings or objects. Can control any non-stand-user for just a few minutes at a time by "psychologically persuading" them (Including Arcizo).

Razuel, there is no blood on the ground leading up to Durundal. I know it seems appropriate, but please don't add details to my character.
