I'm a veteran of the US Army. Anything Army related, I can answer for you.
Thanks, but I stumbled upon someone else on another site who was able to help me. I decided to enlist in the Marine Corps.
Why do you want to enlist and what do you want to specialize in?
(It's ok if you don't want to answer these questions)
I'll give a short summary of why. PM me if you want the detailed version. Started looking into Army National Guard because of patriotism, sense of duty, and a way to help with college. I looked a little in to active duty because it was my emergency plan if I were to get kicked out (I'm 19 but still live at home) and because why not. It just felt... better than National Guard, so I kept it in the back of my mind. After I found the fandom a little over three months ago, I realized just how bad of a situation I'm in (as I said, PM if you want the long version) and that I might need to leave. I'm a Christian. I had "coincidences", which I believe are nudges from God, and a feeling like it was a good path, but not quite the right one. I was dragging my feet, two main reasons were fear and I don't trust the government. I told God one more coincidence, and I would accept the fact I was supposed to enlist. I reached out on another site, and an ex Marine happened to respond. Revealed everything to him, and he helped me realize it is definitely my path, how critical it is I escape, and I now embrace myself enlisting, I don't drag my feet. He had mentioned I sound like a good Marine, and I later asked why. I did some leaning Army research, and decided on the Marine Corps, which is crazy if you knew me in real life. But after I realized that I need to enlist, and I decided I wanted to do it, not to drag my feet, I had an absolutely amazing feeling come over me. It can't be fully described. Since then, my life has changed a bit for the better. eating a bit better, happyish, and I have something to look forward to and fight for instead of just being a robot, surviving the day.
I want to be on the ground fighting if we get into an existential war, like with Russia or China, and I love to fight. And something not boots on the ground just didn't feel right. I plan on going through a new Marine Corps program, Infantry Leadership Program. If you pass, you're a sergeant. I'm a natural leader, so that sounded great, and I'd still get to be infantry.
PM if you want me to go deeper.
