the flemish diamond: one of the most urbanized areas in Europe.



It rains here way more than in the UK or Ireland, and with the rising density and more and more concrete surfaces floods will keep happening and they will happen more often and more severe

In the highlighted area a lot of floods happen in spring and fall.
But they became last years more frequent and more severe (damage)

They happen down the street

I live in that area of floods.
I remember a few years ago seeing the water rise from the sewers.

Oh, I'm really sorry to hear about that. I don't ever remember a flood being around my area, actually. Then again, I live in a spot that lies a little higher than the rest of the city.

I live in an area that is around 6m about the waterline.
Living in flat land doesn't make the things much better 


So what does is something good? There is one of the biggest lakes of the country nearby

Yeah, I see. Denmark is also a pretty flat land, and we almost literally all live just a car-ride away from the shore, but we still don't get many floods (at least from what I've seen). At least we don't get many around where I live
