my feline species this week is also a local feline in my forests of where I live, never seen one in real life, I seen them a lot in the local news, as they do wonder up to other's yards, especially those living in the rural communities. We call them cougar in the Pacific Northwest, I know that in other places they are also called puma, mountain lion, or catamount, a few living in Florida call them the Florida Panther. They do live all over the western part of the USA, Canada, and extend all the way down to the Colombia/Venezuela forests in South America.  They are the 'largest of the small cats'  can purr not roar.

Cougar is also my favorite cat species of all.
