Need something easy to acquire \ hide

My family would never accept the fact that I am in this fandom. As in, I am in incognito mode, huddled in a corner, constantly glancing upwards when I am researching (let alone posting on a forum) about anything furry. Because of this I certainly cannot get a fursuit. Being a freshman,(14 years old) I also do not have a licence.

My three questions are

1. Does anyone have a clue as to how I could get a collar or ears\tail? Or should I just wait?
2. I will also need a decent place to hide these items. Any idea?( if you didn't answer wait)
3. Inside my circle of friends I know one is a furry (his family knows) however I am afraid that he is just going to be a total douche about this... I just finished cleaning up from a rumor that I am a fanatic for neko porn (it started as a joke, but he tends to take things too far...) ... The question is if I should trust him to help me out

1. You don't need one to be a furry, it's your call

2. The top of a cupboard where it's hard to reach is a good place.

3. Just because he's a furry doesn't mean he's cool and will open up to you about it and could indeed still just be an asshole about it. Your call.

Its a crappy idea to be a fur without your Mom and Dad knowing about it. You will get in a ton of trouble, as I have before, and it is not fun. People get cool ideas and mindsets from furries, and then can't explain where to their parents. Just come clean, no fur should hide in the shadows, we are proud beasts. But no pressure,

Thanks for the answers. (I have acknowleded  Mr.Razot, but this is mainly directed at Preeminent) However even if I should not be "in the shadows" it is seriously my only option. My parents would probably get pissed if I did come clean... They are the type that believe humans can be only one way, and make fun of everyone different. So cue their 14yr old son walking up to them and saying: "HI! I am part of a fandom that you have never heard of!" (Not that they know what a fandom is...)

Would I like to stand up and yell from the rooftops "IM A FURRY AND IM PROUD!"? Yes.
Am I going to? No.

I can relate to you Penguins. I'm 26 and am fairly new to the fandom. I'm in the process of paying on my first full suit and I have told my family about me being in the fandom (came up in conversation when talking about a con I went to this year) and that was a mistake. Got mocked and teased in my own house at the dinner table. Was a smidge angry but I honestly am proud of who I am. I don't even care what they think anymore. I've grown tired of being "analyzed" by my aunt and cousin and I'm going to be who I am and the heck with them.


I can seriously understand where you're coming from.
