And as for this "high-tech" compound... Something simple could do. Thermite is a personal favorite. Cheap, simple and it burns hot.

Thermite burns at a far higher temperature than most any homemade napalm. I supose if you wanted you could really go all out, synthesise a compound of self-oxidising hydrocarbons that retain a gel state at room temperature and burn hot, but it's probably not worth it.
