IDK, I'm broke and have no job, and any money I have is being set aside for flight training. I need about another $1500 to finish my private pilot's license... fun stuff

Wel, If I go to another college, I'll have ROTC to back me up, with about a $200 stipend per month. I really don't want to start doing loans now considering the economic situation

If you get an ROTC Scholarship right out of high school, It pays for Tuition, Books, Room & Board (For the college I'm looking at at least), and gives you a monthly stipend on $200-$400 was you go from freshman to senior. After your second year you have a commitment in whatever service the ROTC is, and if you complete all 4 years under the ROTC Scholarship you have a commision as an officer in whatever service and a commitment depending on career choice. And you get to pick your major in college.

That's it in a nutshell.

There's a difference between enlistment and commission. Enlistment is when you join as a E-1 (first enlisted rank), a private for a more general term, and go to boot camp. A Commission is where you join as an O-1 (Forts officer Rank), or a Second Lieutenant. Just a few thousand dollar difference with benefits and pay, no biggie  ;)
