1 week is average for not seeing the sun here, it is the foggiest place in the world, literally.
I love it that way, the sun is too warm and annoying.

Could be.  Now theres something to think about!  how would things look if the entire worlds environment were different?   
There are endless possibilities but not something id explore physically cause that would cause many deadly weather effects before the environment was put to its new way
