Acidic rain is also a long standing problem, though it does no damage to the Eternasteel structures of the planet-wide city, the Sulfuric acid causes almost instantaneous damage to anything less than Permasteel, which is a lower grade of Eternasteel, which itself is a lower grade of Infinisteel, the strongest, hardest, and heaviest material in the universe, known only to be used in the fabrication of the personal armor and weapons of Isaac Verhasst himself. Human Population exceeds thirty-billion, about five times the level of World Population in the early 21st century. Non-Human Populations are, strikingly, less than one-hundred, most of which are refugees. The oceans of the old Earth have been depleted by Human consumption and intentional evaporation, leaving the surface of the planet as one land mass, covered by one city.
