Dare I say, try and put as much detail in as possible.

For example drawing the fur on a wolf or the detail in an eye.
Try different styles of shading or drawing backgrounds.

Also not using digital isn't an excuse to not use colour and if you're having trouble, try drawing from a reference. Also if you find a character or a certain species is becoming too easy to draw, it may be time to try drawing an entirely different character or species.

Drawing wolf or fox fursonas is usually the way to go because so many people have them and they require a fair bit of detail to be good.

Also if you're serious about this, understand that this block is just the first of many. Just have fun doing it :)

Is it normal to, when using a ref, use the same pose as the ref?

What type of ref are you using? Sometimes I'll use stock photos of people as references if I need to figure out a certain pose. You can always tweak the pose any way you want to to fit what you are drawing. For instance, I've seen someone use a reference pic of a person swimming to draw a flying character.

If you're using another person's art as reference, I don't think it's a bad thing to copy the same pose, so long as you don't copy their character/design to claim as your own ^^

Okay, that's good, I don't really use their character, just the pose.

Now I have the same thoughts that's Normal or I think. It may look like it but it probably is improving although you cannot notice. I know I have this problem way to much. But sometimes I save an artwork for a year and compare with my others and start to see a difference trust me I get this all the time and it may seem that way but I'm sure your artwork is very good and it's getting better as you work. Also don't compare your work with others since I used to do that and it made me feel awful and stressed. Just keep it up, and stick with it. don't put yourself down and give up!

I know what you mean Yoshimaster96, I'm also attempting to improve my own drawing skills, I don't seem to improve much either. It won't prevent me from trying and practising. Watching other's art always inspires me to keep trying.

For me, other people's art makes me feel bad about my own art.

Also, here's an example of when I try to draw (the lines show what goes through my head):

Ain't that the truth. I get jealous sometimes, but it also inspires me to practice more. Good art makes me appreciate it more because not everyone is good as other people
