I've been a fan of anthropomorphic creatures since I was a little kid, way before learning of the fandom. I even had a cat fursona before knowing it was even called that. I just referred to it as a "representation of myself" or something along those lines. XD

My spirit animal is also a white tailed deer, and I nearly changed my fursona to reflect. Though I will admit I'm not sure I entirely believe in spirit animals despite my Native American heritage. I chose bunny because I felt it was a more accurate behavioral and personality portrayal of myself. My fursona is me, so other than his species and physicality, we are the same person. That way when I meet people online, they actually (sort of) meet me.  :)

I also been into furry fandom way before I knew what a fandom was.
Only recently have I loved foxes (starting in 2014) they are cute and funny. Before that cats where my to favorite animals (now they 2nd)

I think there's more foxes than wolves.
Personally I don't see the appeal of foxes. I suppose they're cute, but too energetic and noisy for me.
