In my case, while I was considering something else, I based mine on a character I had started with back in high school when I would RP on the Yahoo chat rooms. That alone should say something about how old it was lol  XD

The reason I chose the wolx is because I've always loved wolves since I was little, and the personality fits me well. The reason for a hybrid is for the more social part of my personality, and the fox for more independent/shy. It only really bothers me when people have no real reason, or they fill them with 100 pounds of muscles

People can be fans of anthropomorphic animals and have a fursona and whatnot long before "officially" joining the fandom. I've done the same.
