Why is it good? It's FREE, USES HIGH QUALITY VOICE CODEC (Opus) and IS
FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH WEB BROWSER (Chrome, Opera, Firefox).
Everyone can set up their own server within 4 mouse clicks, with unlimited slots. (Available regions are US West, US East, London, Amsterdam, Singapore, Sydney)
Permissions system is easy as pie, opposed to Teamspeak.
No registration needed, only input your nickname at start and you're ready to go (but account verification is highly recommended).
Sepatare P2P chat.
Low CPU usage (when using desktop app).
Voice and chat channels are separated.
More to come.
No, this is not a sponsored advertisement.
I made this post, with creating a server for this forum in mind.So far, at least from what I've seen, most of voice communication was done via Skype. It has high CPU usage and functions like a phone, making it difficult to contact multiple people simultaneously (via conversations), forcing the caller to work as server. It's also P2P, making it hard to keep big groups together.
Teamspeak has most of it, but there are almost no free server providers and mobile app is paid.
So, why not?
Here's the link again.Tested for 2 weeks so far. No problems found, other than no support fo Maxthon Cloud Browser.
