With so many out, the complex had returned to its eerie silence, giving itself over to the gentle breeze, to the rustle of the leaves and the sway of the grass. It was to be expected, of course. After the events only a day or two ago, nobody was likely to be in much of a state to be out and about... Although this felt too quiet, even for that. Alexander hadn't given it much thought until now. He had busied himself, putting his feet back to work... Even without a weapon, he could train his footwork, at least.
But it was only now, as he took the time to slow down and relax, floating in the lapping waters of the pool, that he actually considered it. Where was everyone? Perhaps they were all locked up in their rooms, recuperating. But even that didn't seem quite right, he pondered, feeling the flow of the water through his fingers. Come to think, an infirmary was probably the only thing missing from this complex... Of all the things to go without, it seemed odd. Maybe he hadn't found it yet. That made more sense. But that, too, raised its own questions...
