The doctor nodded slowly. "By now, yes," they said. "Crats heal from surgery pretty quickly. Your girlfriend should be able to make it into a wheelchair with your assistance."




Cassy, still asleep, slowly stretched a little, reaching her arms out over her head.




"Just remember to have her drink a lot of water and to do some inner abdominal training once she's all healed," the doctor said. "Again, the stomach vacuum would be a good plan. Make sure to keep checking her for hernias during the healing process... sometimes things slip through."

*got up and walked over to the side of the room, unfolding a wheelchair and wheeling it to the side of cassys bed*

As Setcho fetched the wheelchair, Cassy gently blinked awake. "Hrm...? Where am I...?"




"Good morning, dear," the doctor said. "It's time for you to go..."

*Alka hugged Clare back* Alka: There... Isn't much to say really... Just a grown wolf... Working till his very last days... *Alka let out a sigh* The old bastard was wise though... He would always seem to know what was right... After he got his life straight, he was smiling a lot. He spent a decent amount of time bringing me up right, so yeah.... And he would always have stories about his time back when he was a cub...

The crat smiled gently. "Yeah," she said, flicking an ear. "Despite it being made out of metal, the table is quite comfortable." Cassy looked down at herself and frowned a little. "My belly still hurts, though. Did you see the whole operation?"




Gently helping Alka to his feet, Clare led him back into her room. "Do you recall any of his stories?"

Cassy looked at Setcho's face, then grinned and poked his nose. "I'll be careful, don't worry," she said.




"Good to hear," the doctor said, walking over. "Now, if you two would work together, we could get you into that wheelchair, miss."

*he lifted cassy up carefully, not disturbing her stomach and gently set her down in the wheel chair*

The doctor nodded and smiled. "Perfect... you're both free to go." The doctor gently handed Cassy a thermos with the building's name and address on it. "Here's some hot chocolate for the road."




Cassy smiled and gently took it. "Thank you, madam."

[The Past]

Geoff stayed alone in his apartment for a while. He wasn't in the best mood anymore. But when he did feel a little better, he took the time to practice his magic. His emotions needed to be generally balanced to channel properly.

Cassy waved goodbye to the doctor, then glanced up at Setcho. "It's probably for the best... but what about all the stuff we left out there?"
