Kind of, therian implies an animal "of the physical world" and otherkin can be anything from humans to dragons, which is probably why people don't take them seriously. Otherkin also include people who experience what they believe to be previous deaths, throughout life through memories that do not fit with their current existence. I was a human, personally.

Oh. I had no idea otherkin also include humans.
Either way, I treat both seriously so it basically is the same to me.

I tend to not get too excited about it, there's not much you can do if it is or isn't a part of your life.

I'm actually on the fence if I'm an otherkin or not, i feel like a different animal but i also don't feel like that

I mean, I used to get way more excited about it, but now I just accepted that underneath the sona I'm just a plain old boring human.

No matter how interesting therians and otherkin are, we're not exactly "unhuman". Let us not forget we have a human body and are of the same species. (And we have a human spirit, but those are my thoughts.)
