Yup, it's java. I'm learning slowly

I've always preferred the C languages over Java.

Well I used a little bit of c#, it's basically the same as java. And I did c++ in high school. it's considerably easier for basic things, but the more you need to do the harder it gets.

C++ was the first non-basic language I learned and I just like the formatting better.  I felt I was typing too much for Java, lol.  I also loved using Visual Studio.

I'd feel like I'm typing too much too. But as you said earlier, I'm cheating a lot there's no need to call variables a, b etc, I can call them "nextBiggestNumber" and if I need to use it I just type next and press shift+tab to autofill
At first I liked c better, but now I much prefer java.

I probably would like Java better, but my instructor was no good.

You think I had a good teacher? He basically did "okay, here, do this and this" and then didn't say a word to us. Good thing internet exists.

That is pretty much how I got through it.  But by the end I always had Frankenstein code.  Patches of various things all mixed together.

*looks at my code* it's only alphabetically sorted because eclipse has a function to do that. It's a mess.

Do you do any web design code as well?

Nope. I did a very tiny bit of html back in the day but I don't remember much. I guess java script is close enough to normal java so I could do that but that's not really web design.

Java Script is actually quite different from Java.  I thought the same thing before I used them both.

Well... C# is similar. I guess maybe it's different but knowing java definitely helps in learning that

It is.  C# was developed by Microsoft to be like Java.
