Though, there has been one game wherein easy was the hardest difficulty. Just to mess with people's heads.

Well I'd get angry because I didn't get the hard difficulty I wanted

Then play it on easy, it's the very hard difficulty. Then comes hard, and normal is last.

I'd do normal probably. So I'd have easy.

Yeah, same. Though normal difficulty is comparable to the normal difficulty of other games of that time, and so is hard comparable to hard in the same way. Just easy is comparable to the very hard difficulty of other games.

It was just messing with your head if you indeed chose easy mode, and that of those around you.
You completed hard mode? Hah! I did it on easy!
