Alien: Shipwreck
« on: January 07, 2015, 06:18:33 PM »
The Buzzers were all beeping. A wreck was in sight.
Scanners read no signs of life, but some systems were still online: Perhaps most unusually the Life support was blatantly active, although only in about 70% of the hulking mass. This was the one that would be the big payoff...
The ship computers deemed it safe.
Systems started coming online again. The Deep-Sleep pods of the small salvaging ship slowly opened. It was time to get to work.

Ashlin sat up slowly, letting out a sigh as she stretched her neck. She always hated deep sleep, finding it to be extremely sucky when you wake up. The lurch in her throat confirmed that. Clombing out of the pod, she stagared ovee to a toilet, shovinging her head inside a vomiting the contents of her stomach.
Thats it! Your flesh is now forfit to the impending doom down yonder in the horse fields!

Erik stretched as he climbed out of his sleep, he always hated climbing out of the sleep only to be greeted by the cold cockpit. He yawned as he lowered himself into the pilot seat. He quickly checked or the vitals monitors everbody seemed alright. "Alright what do we got" he said as he checked the computer.

The ships computers had been inactive for a while...

The computer lit up:
"Freighter class ship - USCSS Nalfar"
"Status - Out of Commission"
"Hull Damage - 15%"
"Artificial Gravity - 65% Functional"
"Life Suport - 80% Functional"
"Life signs - ?"

the screen glitched up for a second

"Life signs - none readable"

Barrett grunted, coming to out of the machine.  He sighed, quickly shrugging on a pair of simple, green overalls. When he was sure he was out of sight of the group, he allowed himself to curl up on all fours, puking his guts out

Remulus stumbled out the pod. He sat back-first as his head was dizzy feeling as if he tried to solve brain teasers on a rollercoaster. His eyes challenged him to a battle because he didn't get sny sleep. Not able to resist he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

I will find you, and I...will...HUG YOU!!

Rae awoke from his sleep with a start, immediately trapped behind his door.
"Of course, of course. Trap the fat one." He started to kick at the latches on the bottom, but to no avail, so he just started to yell for anyone nearby.

Ashlin got up and wiped her mouth,  rinsing it out and spitting before leaving the bathroom and going over to her locker. She put on a pair of desert camo pants and a plain black tanktop, then slipped a pair of black goggles over her forehead. "Hey Barrett, could ya help Rae?" She said, putting a pair of fingerless gloves on. "I would, but I have to go check the status of the ship." With that, she shut her locker and went out the door, walking down a few hallways before reaching a hatch and slidding down its ladder to the engine room. The steady hum of the machinery was like music to her ears, calming her as she sat down at a computer and typed in some comands. "Generator status:" "Power Core status:" Fusion relay status:" "LifeSupport: Oxygen levels"  "Damage reports:"

Rae sighs and starts kicking again, finally managing to get the door open and climb out of the container. He slips on his iconic leather jacket and checks the calibrations on his prosthetic arm, making sure it's still fully functional before heading down to the engine room and standing next to Ashlin.
"Are we safe to dock and board?"

"Yeah, we should be. But we got a bit'a haul damage and our long distince com ray got knocked out. I can repair the haul easy, but we I think the damage to the ray is servere." She brought up an outline of the ship on the monitor, damage readouts lining down the side. The outline where the com ray was flashed red with a damage read of 94%. "Mind relaying this to Erik when you get to the cockpit?"

"Yeah, sure thing. I'll head up there now." Rae rubs his thumb against one of Ashlin's lenses and purposely smudges it as he walks out of the engine room and towards the cockpit

Barrett grunted, pulling a M41A pulse rifle out of his locker. He checked its ammo;all good, 99 rounds. Due to legal issues, he had to remove the grenade launcher, and replace it with a shotgun. The rifle was colored a custom desert tan, with a custom red dot sight; it was cheaper than a HUD-aiming assist.
He sighed, rifle in hand, and walked up behind Ashlin "See if we can't get anything about the weapons. See about the generator too, there might be some useful stuff there."

Rae walks into the cockpit and sits in his pilot's chair. He says over the ship's intercom, "Okay, ladies and gentlemen of this useless scrap ship, it's time for docking. Prepare yourselves for the sudden stop, and wake anyone else still in deep sleep. And I need Erik up here in the cockpit ASAP." Rae takes over control from the autopilot and brings the ship in and docks safely to the Nalfar.
