Apple iOS VS. Android OS
« on: July 31, 2014, 06:47:33 AM »
Which do you prefer and why? I've never had an Apple phone so I can't really comment on it, but I have owned Android phones and I think they're pretty good. Sometimes apps can be pretty buggy, but other than that it works decently.

Personally I prefer Android, always have and probably always will. Just has a better feel about it to me, and not to mention there's more diversity among what uses Android (out-of-box at least.)

I see more and more people leading toward android. I thought there would be at least some apple supporters in all the forums i've made/seen this thread in. I like Android, just wish certain apps weren't so buggy. I've heard from some friends who have Apple iOS phones that apps work much better and more smoothly on them, which is a pretty big deal considering apps are what makes a phone these days to the point you can really call them phones anymore as talking on the phone is just one of many, MANY things they can do these days.

To be fair though I'm pretty sure app guidelines are more strict for iOS, and typically are made to be a bit more smooth or even professional, at least from what I've heard.

Android, Because Its modifiable, Linux based and universal. Ios might work flawless, but you pay extra for it, and it isn't as universal as Android. +Apple devices are not worth the money anyway

I wish they could make Android phones work better with apps like iOS, as well as being modifiable/universal and less expensive. For many people, the extra money is worth the more reliable apps.

Hopefully Android will start working on the app issues and become better while remaining cheaper, thus making it a clearly superior product.

Android is modifiable/universal :P
That also however is the issue with the apps. There isn't only one android phone with set specifications as well as only one Android OS.
It's like saying a game on a fast computer using 8 should also work just s well on a computer running Win 94.

I know, I saw what Lylac said and I just said that in my post to add to the first part of what I said about the apps to put it all together.

I prefer android OS, because it's cheaper and pretty much has the same accessibility, in my opinion, as macs. It's easier to modify, better to make games for and has a freer market place. It also has the cool swiping mechanism where you can type entire words without lifting your finger off the page.

I don't have any input phone wise, but tablet wise I prefer Apple.
I love my ipad2 and have dropped it numerous times (accidently) in ways that would serverly damage an Andriod, all you have to do to revive an Ipad is smack it on it's back a few times and lightly drop it on the carpet. Boom. revival.
I also have to go with Apple because of Cydia and all the perks and tweaks it has. Some of those things I just couldn't live with out.
But yeah, that's just my two cents.  :P
