My Dad died when I was 10 from cancer after years of alcoholism. Leading up to that his infidelity had created a cold domestic situation with my Mum. Due to this nobody noticed the problems I was having as a result of being a year and a half into several years of abuse by my sister's husband.

When I was about 11-ish, (I don't exactly know my age at the time cuz I repressed the memory super hard all I know is that I had started high school not too long before so I was like 11-12) I had to witness my mother being beaten and hold her as she cried afterwards for every other week or so for about two years. Wasn't the best of times for me.
