This is a thread about Metal, and it's subgenres! Punk and Grunge included! I'll start it off. I'm a HUGE Metallica fan. They inspired me to start pursuing music. I want to get a guitar and learn it so I can play with some friends, and expand my love of metal. here's a good question to kickstart things: how were you introduced to Metal? You can never go wrong with Iron Maiden. I've started listening to Megadeth recently, and I've gotta say I love the album, "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?"

Peace Sells has an awesome bass opening!

In terms of frontmen, who's your favorite? I think Metallica's James Hetfield is the best. He's a bit of a role model for me (of course AFTER he went to rehab to make himself better).

I love metal in all its forms. Bands I love include:
Metallica
Megadeath
Rancid
Nirvana
Three days grace
Tenacious D
Rise against
Deftones (Best band ever. There music is beutiful. It makes me cry tears of blood and rejoice)
Bloodsimple
Death (Not to be confused with Megadeath)
Slayer
Suicidal tendencies
Offspring
Black Sabbath
White Zombie

And many more, Those are just The ones that influence me most.

And as for favorite front man, Cyko Myko And Mitch Lucker are pretty much tied (Which is ironic, If you consider that their bands are named suicidal tendencies and Suicide Silence, Respectivly.) Cyko Myko Appeals to me becuase of his Philosophy (Listen to Gotta kill captain stupid and Cyco speak to see what I mean) But as a singer myself, I style myself After Mitch Lucker Becuase his music got me into Screamo and metal in general in the first place.

I like metal, but I'm kind of allergic to the most famous metal groups. Mostly because I think their music is kind of generic (my opinion! no offense!) and I'm Always kind of annoyed by the teenagers shouting "SLAYER" at every concert.

My favourite metal band are the Melvins, they are a weird metal/punk/doom/ambient kind of metal band, and made some essential records in the stoner/doom metal scene.

I also like metal/punk bands like Balzac.

I kind of dislike genres as thrash metal and black metal, I don't really like the music, and the fans are mostly terrible (again, no offense)

Oh, and my favourite punk bands are 45Grave, Cinema Strange, and Nausea

And what do you think about Luca turilli's Rhapsody and ascending to infinity? The album had beautiful classical parts, but dragged a bit too much in my opinion.
