All about the settings you use 
Thing is, there's not much in fraps that can be changed. Recording full size (1080p) at 30fps makes my games run at around 35fps which is
really choppy and imho unplayable. Recording at 60fps drops my framerates from 60-70+fps in the games I've tested to around 40-45 which still looks choppy and is very hard to play with.
Enabling lossless RGB mode is even worse.
On top of this, after I edit the video, the finished video after editing in Sony Vegas is much darker than it should no matter what I do.
Out of all the recorders I've tried, Fraps is the only one that has these issues where dxtory is near flawless and offers much more choices for codecs and recording quality (such as lossy or lossless compression). The lagarith codec is amazing! Smaller files than fraps produces and
better image quality!
