Furries only wear animal print, or they wear some form of animal print to show they're a furry. Or at least, that's what I thought for the longest time.

There are many theories, but new members of the fandom who spam non-members with unwanted adult images is a factor.  Also there was much negative propaganda against us in the Brony Wars.
