The electrons in Ferrous metals (Iron, Cobalt, and Nickel) have been stripped away from thier nucleus and have created atoms with positive and negative poles. All those little poles align with posotive pointing one way and negative the other, therefore creating the north pole at the positive and south at the negative. Physics Class FTW
