Question is, why would anybody bother making an organic shoe...? Isn't the point of cloth to be a useful product from otherwise useless materials? IF you can eat it why make a shoe of it?!

Leather is cured with deeply toxic chemicals.
 
Because synthetic tannic acids are dangerous, I'd rather not eat it if I can help it, now that I think about it
