Eric hugged at his sides as he stood a bit out into the darkness of the small clearing that led from the main house to the converted horse stables, his breath freezing and drifting off to join the numerous other whisps of forgotten air within the mountains. Cautiously he placed his hand on his holster, where his service revolver was waiting, once again gaining an unnatural weight from his touch. "well, nows as good a time as any." he pulled back the hammer on the revolver and advanced towards the stables, the mansion behind him now just an ominous stone temple to Gothic archeteture. the stable's powersource, a large Dynamo hooked up to the far side of the building hummed and growled in the night. Eric straightened out his uniform and cap and knocked on the stable door, to be greeted by one of the professor's assistants, "M..M..Major, what are you doing out at this time of night, you'll catch your death of cold!" Eric grinned and removed his cap, slightly bowing to seem courtious, "I wanted a word with the good professor." the Assistant nodded and motioned for him to enter. Eric dusted off his boots as he entered the oddly bright room, filled with work benches, makeshift bunks and several dissasembled weapons laying out on tables. "Major Devlov?" Eric turned to see the Professor carrying a thick Machinegun Barrel in his hands, apparently he just removed it from one of the numerous in stock in the armory at the base of the mountain. "ah yes, professor, I wanted to have a word with you." The Professor nodded and gave his assistant the barrel, "not here, this is unbefitting of an officer of your stature." Eric nodded and put his cap back on, following the professor back out into the frozen darkness of the mountains. "my Quarters are just beyond this thicket of trees, they wanted me to have privacy during my stay." Eric looked around him as much as his eyesight would allow. His revolver would make too much noise, attract guards or even worse the other officers, he could try and strangle him, but theres the chance that he would struggle and break free. He considered his choices as they found a slight one story worker's quarters of moderate size. "the Professor unlatched the door and creaked it open, the warm inviting air rushing out to greet them, Eric took his chance. As the professor turned, He drew his revolver and placed it point blank to his face, the professor loosing his smile and gaining a look of complete horror, "back up, slowly, and I wont shoot." the professor obeyed and slowly walked into the house, then spun and ran into an opposite room. "Damnit!" he Chased after and almost got smacked by a fire poker the professor brought to bear. He shrugged off the attempt and cracked the Professor on the back of his head with the the butt of his revolver, sending him crashing to the floor of the slightly colder abode.
The professor woke much later, with a grinning Eric sitting across from him reading through files that had been in his small study/bedroom. "your a very busy man Prof, besides this you were on the board that created the Underseeboot program, helped to revolutionize the outer areas of your countrie's rail lines to make troop movement easier and you created the trench system that so many German Soldiers now depend on for their lives....yes yes, very interesting." the Professor shook in his chair, a slight taste of blood in the back of his mouth reminded him of the crack to the skull, "How long have I been out?" Eric shrugged, "about, I'd say an hour, oh dont worry about anyone inturrupting us, I doubt anyone will question a Major speaking with the Good Professor, besides, your assistant is most likely still sleeping back in the stables, so were going to have a nice chat now that your awake." He stood and brought the file folder with him and stood in front of the Professor as he weighed it in his hands, "your new rifle design is truely amazing, a multi-purpose weapon that would Triple the death rate of the Entante, very very good." he sighed and shook his head, tossing the file into the fire and spinning the professor's chair to face it as it burned. "now, i know you have the designs somewhere, so, for every second you delay me, I'm going to burn something of yours, or, simply, burn you." he Tipped the chair forward to the fire, the professor letting out a loud scream. "now now now, dont do that, we wouldnt want anyone ruining our talk." he brought the chair back and leaned against the opposite wall, the professor began to sob, "why, why are you doing this, this is Treason!" Eric smirked and walked forward slowly, hands behind his back and ears pirked up fully in enjoyment. "Treason is for Members of the German Military, which I am only playing the part." the Professor hung his head and sobbed more, Eric walked up to him and picked up his chin, "you were going to unleash a weapon that would murder millions with the combined might of the Machine Gun and Poison Gas, you are not some genious, your a monster who aids the slaughter of others." He stood back in disgust and pushed the professor's chair back with his foot, shoving sharply into his chest. "now, I hope you will tell me where those files are....." he picked up a piece of wood and examined it, sticking it into the fire till it lit. "wha, what are you going to do If I dont?" "tsk tsk tsk, you'd think by now you would have figured out." Eric brought the lit piece of timber to the professor's chair, dragging the lit end along his rubber sole, making it melt into the floor. the Professor yowled out in pain rocking the chair back and forth. "SHUT UP." Eric drew the revolver and aimed it squarely at the professor.the Professor quieted quickly, sucking back tears, "theyre in, in my study inside the small metal case beneath the 3rd cabinate." Eric nodded and threw the timber into the fire, holstering his revolver and heading back into the study.
The Professor began to look back and fourth at his surroundings, for something to get his bonds off, and saw a small worker's knife, it had apparantly been strapped to the back of the chair by a former tennant of the building. Carefully, Gerord (I barely remembered his name) managed to get ahold of the knife and cut at his bonds, wary of the Return of the man he knew as Devlov.
Eric walked back into the room holding a set of files, and to Gerord facing him with a knife drawn. "Devlov, im going to leave now, and report you, theres nothing you can do!" Eric tilted his head and smiled, "oh but professor, there is much I could do." the Professor crept towards the door, " you wouldnt dare shoot me, you would reveal yourself as the traitor you are!" Eric looked at him seriously, "Do you think I'm simple?" Gerord stood in the slight doorway between them and the front door, and suddenly ran for it.
Eric sprinted behind him and caught up quickly, taking out his legs and climbing up his writhing form, drawing his revolver yet again and beating Gerord over and over in the back of the head, until an audible crack sounded through his form. He breathed heavilly as he sat in the semi-dark of the forest, wiping his mouth and standing up laborously. He quickly glanced around and sighed, grabbing Gerord's feet and dragging him back to his quarters.
(that entire passage was brutal, you need to understand something, My character is a spy, not some nice guy, gets the girl kind of spy, the shoot you, hide your body then shake your Wife's hand kind of spy, any complaints, drop 'em off and I'll edit)
"stupid little hound, could have just stayed quiet, but no." Eric grumbled to himself as he stuffed files into his inner coat pocket and headed back into the main living room, where the professor was layed out on top of the carpet. "I wish you a long and healthy death, Professor." Eric grabbed a wine bottle from the counter and quickly doused as much as he could, kicking the fireplace so that a bit of timber rolled out, and set the room ablaze. Eric walked out into the dark, and looked around him as the sun peeked slightly over the far mountains. As he headed in, the Professor's assistant opened the Stable Door and asked where the professor was. Looking back towards the quarters, he guessed he had about fifteen minutes until the fire was viewable. "ah, the professor, well he had a few too many drinks back at his quarters and well, dozed off." Eric remembered the note the Russian had slipped him and asked to be let in again, heading into the stables to procure the prototype. He found it fully Dissasembled with the newly re-drawn schematic lying next to it. the Assistant was at work getting dressed behind a stall, in which time Eric Packed the entire prototype and all it's attachments into a metal carrying case. as he walked out, he drew his revolver and opened the stall the Assistant was in, placing a round into his supprised face. Hurriedly, Eric rushed back to the Mannor and stashed the case within the kitchen, underneath the main cutting table he had seen the Russian at numerous times before. Tyrol came down into the hallway and looked about, half dressed, and ran to Eric, "Devlov, whats happened?" Eric Shrugged, "I dont know sir, I came down for a small dish to take back to my room and I hear a shot ring out." A guard rushed into the building covered in soot, "Sirs, the Professor's quarters are aflame and we found his assistant dead." Tyrol hissed in his throat and nodded, "Secure the Area, search everywhere for the professor." the Guard nodded and rushed back outside. "Such a horrible turn of events, a traitor in our ranks." Eric laughed to himself as Tyrol agreed and ran back upstairs. "you work too slow American." Eric jumped and hit the table with his right hand, "Damnit Sergio, what Did I tell you about sneaking up on me?" Sergio raised an eyebrow, "Nothing." "oh, well dont." "Did you procure the prototype?" Eric nodded and showed him beneath the cutting table, "I can get it out of here tonight, thank you for your help." He nodded and drew his revolver, checking the chamber, an empty round clattered to the floor, which he picked up and tossed into a waste bin, "well, one ugly item of business done." Sergio grinned and headed out to play the part of stunned onlooker. Klaus came down the stairs buttoning his shirt and looked at Eric, 'Devlov, did you see what happened?" He shook his head and looked out a window.
Klaus took on a worried face as he looked at Devlov, then glanced down at his boots which bits of the brown mud found all over the surrounding woods. With a final Questioning gaze, Klaus headed outside to help secure the area. Eric shook his head and dusted off his boots, walking back up to his room, "sad turn of events."
Well yeah.....hahah, all dark towards the end there, any comments, let em rip
