Rats scurried across the crack tiles.  Water leaked through the roof, causing puddles, and grime coated everything.  Nothing had moved i the school for years.
 
A blur disrupted the mice, paws kicking up dirt in panic.  Others followed after, yelling.  The first, a grimey cat in ragged clothes, hurried into a door, panting and shaking from fear and hoping they didn't see her.

She hurried in after the voice, still shaking.  She was extremely thin under her oversized clothes, small in stature.  Several scars ran through her fur, quite apparent to the stranger.

the other girl grabs her arm and pulls her in and quickly shuts the door just before the  hunters open the door to the room. "I could have sworn that she cam in here sir!"

They argued, but left.  As footsteps got fainter, the cat let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding.  "Thank you.  I owe you my life."
