Hello there. I'm very new.

Hello there I'm Jake. I am completely new to everything furry. Except that I've always been interested but never committed to a forum or anything. So if you could help me around this whole thing I would really appreciate it. I have noticed that people have "fursonas". I could use some help with figuring mine out. Thanks a bunch!
P.S I hope its okay that I have a picture of myself for now until I get things figured out  :)

lemme say FIRST and then modify my post....

alright, so you're a  furry,you have to roll 4 d6's for your base stats.....(jk :P)

First, what brought you  to the fandom?
Next, think of 10 animals and list them
Will you be anthro or feral? (those can be explained, for the love of all that is holy do not google image anthro)
How long have you thought about it?
What does furry mean to you so we don't risk confusion?
What KIND of furry are you? (fursuiter, lifestyler, RPer, casual, etc)

Hello Jake even though your username says Elliot  XP  Welcome to our forums, Im Macid the Diamond Lynx and lemme start you off on some helpful pointers.

your fursona is your character that you play as, Mine is a Diamond Lynx, but yours could be a house cat, wolf, bear, jackal, bird, etc. Any animal or combination that you can imagine. Make your fursona yours! easiest way is to think of which animal you like best and start with that. You can have more than one fursona btw. Any other questions, feel free to pm me or another mod and we'll help out as best we can  :)

I guess I just wanted to see what it was all about. I had heard about furries in general and apparently Pittsburgh (area i live) has a large following.
10 animals.
Fox, Snake, Turtle, Platypus, Crow, Deer, Racoon, Rat, Dog, Cat
I googled it (nothing bad came up) and I guess anthro.
I've thought about it for a while. But I've onlly seriously considered it for a week and finally found this forum.
For now, being a furry just means that I'm a person that's interested in the culture. I like animals and enjoy furry art. (even though I can't draw at all)
I'm a casual furry. Maybe once I learn some more about everything that will change.

Well my favorite animal is a fox (I know its common but I love them) so I think I will start with that.

Hello Im Geist the philosophical wolf and welcome to the forums :)
I was just like you a couple months ago tryna figure it out.
Fursona is essentially your furry personality. It can be any animal or creature and does not have to be a "furry/haired" animal infact we a have a few scalies on our forum. It can even be a hybrid if you want. I picked a wolf for example because theyre native to both where i was born and where I currently live. Everyone has different reasons for their own. And you generally "customize" your fursona so to speak with color schemes and accessories and clothes etc etc. I still need to get mine drawn and I don't think they'll mind you using a picture of yourself for the time being as I've been doing the same. If you have any questions though don't be afraid to as a mod or admin they don't bite. If you ever wanna just talk I'm always willing.
