do you think people choose species to be appealing to others?

actually... i can kinda echo that with my pangolin. i'm only a lion which are pretty common, so i said to myself "hmmm... i'm far too pretentious to be pretty common. i need to make people go "what's that?" when they hear my species". so i created mr salam.

Oh yes, quite.  A lot of furs thrive on attention.  It makes sense to pick a species that is extra cuddly and sociable.

I think you might mean "Weimaraner".

It's actually surprising that one of my characters isn't some sort of dog breed since I love dogs so much, but I didn't really think of it.

I, myself, am not very sociable off of the internet. I have an easier time talking to people online.

But anyways, to stay on topic, I'm glad there's a bunch of hybrids, but my type of hybrid isn't very common.

I don't mean to sound like a hipster, but I usually don't do the "mainstream" things. But it seems that Foxes are also among the most popular (maybe not by this poll :/ ) and I still chose it, because I love foxes.
