I was in a school, not exactly like any I've been to. I think it was the first day, maybe not. It was either a High School or College, but I think High School.
I had an appointment with someone I didn't want to miss. I was in a hurry, and wasn't sure I'd make it on time. I decided to take a shortcut through a part of the building reserved for staff and student leadership, apparently I'd done it before without a problem.
At first there was nobody, then I turned a corner and two of them were coming the opposite direction. They had Boy Scout-like uniforms. One of them, tall with dark hair and a cup of coffee in his hand, got angry. "Hey, what're you doing in here? You're not supposed to be here!"
I was going to apologize, but he handed his coffee to his buddy and started towards me, so I just ran. He started calling me a thief, assuming I was in here to steal something. I ran back out into the halls with him in hot pursuit.
I tried disappearing in a crowd. Didn't work, as they saw what was going on and looked at me and my pursuer and backed away. So I ran around a corner, around another corner, found the men's room and ducked in really quick, and locked myself in a stall. I heard him on his radio telling others to look out for me.
Then I heard some noises behind me, a little kid. I turned around, there was a grate on the wall, through which I could see into the very area I just ran from. There was a toddler in there, playing around, with no supervision. I wondered how they could have missed that and yet been mad at me, but it didn't matter.
I scribbled out a note on a piece of notebook paper and rolled up some pieces of scotch tape to stick on back, then dug through my pack for extra clothing. I had a jacket and some sunglasses, and I was already wearing extra shirts and a hat. So I took off the hat and outer shirt, put on the jacket and glasses, and left the restroom as casually as I could. I went nervously past the door to that staff area, pasted the note on the door, and kept walking.
I had a dorm here for some reason, in the same building there was a dorm section. I went into my room and collapsed on my bed. Then I heard voices outside, and knocking on the door. I didn't answer, and I hadn't bothered turning on the lights. "He's not here." They said. A nice girl's voice said "I'll wait here and call you if he shows up."
Looked like I was stuck. But I was hungry, and didn't have any food. And there were vending machines right near the front doors! I grabbed some cash from my wallet, not wanting to take anything else, and decided to take my chances. I left the room with the jacket and sunglasses still. The girl turned and blinked at me. I sheepishly said "Hey" as if everything was normal, and sulked off to the machine. I heard her giggle.
When I got to the machine, I realized I had a 10 and a 100 in my hand instead of 1's. "Really?!" I crumpled the money in my hand hoping no one saw the amounts, and sulked back to my room, to more of the girl's giggling, but she hadn't called anyone.
I was digging through my wallet looking for actual 1's when the dream ended.
