Ive played both editions my friend. and there are no noticeable differences :S atleast not on HD tv's :P

And it could not have Been because of other factors like what TV it was? If yours was HD and theirs was not? (would have been obvious though).
Also I'm quite sure they didn't optimise the game for the ps3 like you suggest
