TOTALLY unrelated... How do you apply passwords to SD cards?
« on: August 14, 2010, 04:13:18 AM »
I'm trying to put a password on my micro SD for my phone, and it seems to have been applied sucessfully, but it never asks for prompts....

I'm not sure what the point of a password that never asks for a password is, but I don't particularly want anyone getting into me and Kitty's private album...

What am I supposed to do to make my security secure?  :S
I'm guessing the mystery girl is some kind of root vegetable.

Um, how did you put the password on the card?
Using a software that was already on it or something else?

I just used my phone. The option to apply a password was there, and I needed to apply a password, so I did. It just strikes me as strange that a password protection would offer no protection <.<--->.>

weird, um, did you try restarting the phone?
And, does it ask if trying to access it from somewhere else than the phone? Like, if u connect it to the computer through the cable?

It is a highly likely chance that the phone just automatically inputs the password for you for it's own personal ease of access. Like for instance, if you have programs installed on the phone outside of stock features (even if you currently don't).

I would try using it on a computer that you have not plugged your phone into. If the password IS applied then it should ask for a password when trying to open a file (which strangely enough will in most case not prevent thumbnails from showing unless you use a high end password applying program).

My recommendation? If your phone allows you to edit extensions like mine does, then just add one letter to the extension or remove one. It will make it appear to the device handling it as a corrupt file even though It really won't be. Unfortunately this can be bypassed by manually loading it in a program that handles viewing the original extension but double clicking would just bring up the 'open with..." menu in most cases.
