The Press Your Music on Others Thread!

Ok.  This is a fun little thing involving music.  But not just any music...  Other peoples music and yours!

Post a song!  The person below you in response to your post will critique the song (hate it, though it was ok, love it) and post a song in their arsenal.

One song at a time!!!

Ya never know...  You might find something you like!

Me first...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3tDw7znNyQ

You can critique any song you want above you.  Or multiple if you wanted to.  Go for it!

Not something I can listen to at home...  It's catchy though...  But for home listening I prefer music that's music :P

Oh...  I'm sorry man...  I've hated Oasis for a long time for my own reasons :P

Nothing against them...  Just how they play.

And now...  This!

Agalloch is a very atmospheric band.  They take time to get into if you don't know the genre very well.

Bad Day...  Ugh.  That guy has such a whiny voice...

Sorry, I'm very tough on pop/mainstream :P

This song demands...  A live performance!

Mr. Akerfeldt...  Take it away!

I agree! That is always better as a live performance.
Also, I think you wont like most of my songs. I am not big into your genres. I am more techno/rock.

Basshunter...  As shocked as I am to say it...  isn't bad.  I just have a very hard time listening to it at home.  I need to be out doing something if I'm going to listen to it, because then I won't worry about how I can appreciate it haha!

That was strange but ok. It made me think of Hitler actually  o.O
Also, I am a major fan of basshunter so if you want to know more of his songs, I can share em if you want.

Till then, this will do.

If you read the dialog in the beginning it gives you some insight into the song.  Within Temptation is a fantastic band...  Excellent stage presence and A LOT of energy.

As for Basshunter...  Again...  Pretty catchy.  Not bad.  My artistic side is screaming at me...  But the rhythm in me likes it :o

Ok, this song...  I don't expect you to like one bit.  This song means a lot to me...  It being the first death metal song I've ever heard and liked somehow!  :o

It broke me from the musical slump I was in.  Then I had to have more...  Maybe it will have the same effect on someone...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G2jlXUkJ84

^^

I watched that exact video like 4 or 5 years ago...  Think about that o.O

If you can listen to the whole song you get an extra special hug!

That's a solid song. i can see why you like it, but I feel nothing.

whereas this song... well the best i can describe the feeling is that it burns through my body and ignites my soul. particularly when it gets to 1:36

"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

If you compare Opeth to most other metal bands out there today, Akerfeldt (the front man, singer/songwriter, guitarist) puts more soul and feeling behind his songs than most out there.  But...  It's an acquired taste.  Not something you can just jump into.

Hmmm...  I neglected to feel anything from that.  Too digital for my tastes.

I couldn't find the studio version of this song...  But I can't ever complain when John Petrucci is on stage!
